Michele Alexander Communications was launched in 1990 and is run by communications specialist Michele Alexander who works in association with professional specialists and facilitators to bring the best packages in Continuous Professional Development to your company.

Michele Alexander has an Honors degree in Journalism from Stellenbosch University and has 27 years experience in the media.

She was involved for several years in the production of the SABC news programme “Radio Today” handling a wide variety of correspondents and interviews on topical issues of the day.

She was based in Paris for six months as a guest of the French government organisation ACTIM where she studied television production techniques.

On her return to South Africa, she joined the SABC TV news programme “Network” as co-anchor with John Bishop.

This led to an invitation from the United States embassy to participate in the prestigious International Visitor Programme to gain an overview of American television.

She decided to focus on TV documentary production and her programme on the heroism of the Comrades marathon was awarded a STAR TV TONIGHT award.

She was involved in the presentation of a fifty-two part series entitled “Let’s talk Small Business” for the SABC.

In 1988 she completed the Management Advancement Programme at the University of the Witwatersrand Business School.

She joined Time Integrated Management Services as a consultant involved in the implementation of Organisational Behavior Audits. In 1990 Michele decided to set up her own company.

She worked as an independent producer/ presenter for “Carte Blanche” on MNET TV for 13 years, winning several awards, among them:
  1. MASA Award for Excellence in Medical Reporting
  2. Shoprite Checkers Award for Consumer Journalism
  3. SA Science and Technology Award for Best TV Contribution
In 2001, she was appointed Executive Producer: e TV’s Breakfast show – a two-hour live daily broadcast.

In 2003 she worked as Executive Producer: Biology Division on a project that involved the translation on to video of the Ethiopian government’s education syllabus.

In 2004 she was appointed Executive Producer: Weekend Property by Summit TV to assist in the development of a new lifestyle channel on DSTV.

Michele is a freelance writer and currently writes features for New Media Publishing, Financial Mail, The Weekender and Women Inc.

She has also moved into the field of training and facilitates Continuous Professional Development courses.

She is a qualified Assessor and is registered with the ETDP SETA.

Michele is a trained facilitator in "Conversations that Matter". This is an interactive way of creating dialogue about important issues in business.

Michele has undergone training as a Mentor under the Women In Finance/UCT Graduate School of Business Mentorship Programme.

In 2007, Michele was appointed to the national panel of judges for the Anglo American - Sowetan Young Communicators Award.

Michele is a member of several organisations which promote her skills as a Keynote Speaker and Facilitator. They are Speakers Inc, Motivators International and Lunch and Learn.

As part of her extramural activities, Michele served on the Board of Johannesburg Child Welfare Society for almost 10 years.
